Collections on every day over the holiday period
Whilst some businesses close for Christmas and New Year, we are well aware that a large number of our customers operate every day of the year. Just like us.
Where other collectors stop or reduce their services over the Christmas period, the City Council’s commercial waste and recycling collections for businesses will operate as normal through this period, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If you have special requirements for your collections during this period then please let us know so we can help.
Christmas trees
Disposing of your Christmas trees doesn’t need to be expensive. Did you know you can drop off your tree for free at one of our Christmas tree collection sites? Simply remember to remove all decorations and we will take care of the rest. If the tree is under 2 meters or if its a plastic tree then it is even easier to dispose of as you can present it for your regular waste collection with one of the yellow (‘cardboard’) stickers attached which can be ordered online.
If your tree reaches over 2 meters then it will need to be collected via a bulky waste collection. We provide these Christmas tree collections at a discounted rate during the festive period.
Extra waste or recycling collections
If you have extra waste then we are happy to arrange for extra collections if needed, even at short notice. If you need to arrange any additional waste and recycling bin collections during the December period then please contact us via the usual phone number: 020 7641 6180.
