Extinction Rebellion protest to cause disruptions 7th – 20th October 2019
Large parts of the wider West End are going to be affected by the Extinction Rebellion protest between 7th– 20th October 2019. This protest is occupying main traffic routes causing delays and severe congestion. The City Council has information available and is in close liaison with the emergency and contingency services to address the situation and minimise the disruption. Updates will be available at Met Police or on Twitter: @MetPoliceUK
The City Council’s waste and recycling collections are running as normal in most areas. Where access is restricted, we will work with the contingency services to gain access to affected streets.
If your commercial waste is normally collected through a private collector and you find that they have been unable again to collect your business’ waste, then you can ask us to help and to have it collected by us instead. The City Council will have access to affected areas to perform collections.
