Large parts of the West End are currently affected by the Extinction Rebellion protest. This protest is occupying main traffic routes causing delays. The City Council is in close liaison with the emergency and contingency services to address the situation and minimise the disruption. Waste and recycling collections from businesses are running as normal. This is because the City Council is using different vehicles and collection methods to collect in the affected areas. We also have dedicated access to areas that are off-limits to others.
If you find that your private waste collector has been unable again to collect your business’ waste then why not talk to us instead to have it collected. The City Council will have access to affected areas to ensure waste can be collected.
