The Tour de France is back in Westminster
Tour de France, the world’s largest annual sporting event, is back in Westminster on Monday 7th July. The final kilometres of the famous cycle race will take them along the Thames, towards Lower and Upper Thames Streets and the Victoria Embankment into Westminster, before riding past the Houses of Parliament, around St James’s Park and finishing, with Buckingham Palace as a backdrop, on The Mall in St James’s Park between 15:30 and 16:00.
The Tour de France will attract large crowds of spectators and visitors when some of the greatest names in cycling will compete for the Stage 3 and the famous yellow jersey. This exciting event will however mean that a number of roads in Westminster will be closed and you will need to plan your journeys in advance. Read more about travel disruption and road closures
We’re always there serving Westminster businesses. It is business as usual during Tour de France and collections of commercial waste and recycling are made as normal. We will have additional staff and vehicles at hand to cope with the increased volumes of rubbish. You can prepare your business if you expect to get busy and have more rubbish than normal by ordering additional commercial waste & recycling bags or requesting additional collections for your bin(s).
