How to dispose of food waste
We offer a tailored service to meet your individual needs to include all the equipment you need to manage the collection in a hygienic manner that is fully compliant with Animal By-Product Regulations. Small caddies, compostable liners and wheelie bins can be provided depending on the storage space you have or the quantity of food waste you produce. What can be collected:
- Meat, Fish, Bones
- Eggs and all dairy products
- Vegetables and fruit
- Bread, cake and pastries
- Coffee grounds (inc. the paper filters) and tea bags
- Plant cuttings and flowers
- Leaves
Please be aware that so called ‘biodegradable’ or ‘compostable’ packaging disrupt the anaerobic digestion process and cannot be collected as part of food waste collections. Any such materials present in food waste need be taken out as contamination ahead of the treatment process and disposed of as general waste.
