How to dispose of paint
Leftover paint can be donated to paint reuse schemes for use by individuals, families and organisations in need. Please follow this link for more information.
If you need to dispose of small quantities of liquid paint please remove the lid of its packaging and leave it to dry out or dry it out on some newspaper. After this please put the dry paint out with your general waste in the red commercial waste bags or bin. Liquid paint is hazardous to collection crews as well as the general public and should never be left out for collection.
For larger quantities (up to 50L) you can arrange a hazardous waste collection.
Empty paint pots/containers are general waste and need to be incinerated. Do not dispose of empty paint containers in your recycling bin since the leftover paint doesn’t allow them to be recycled.
