How to recycle muselets (champagne cork wire cages)?

Recycling right: Why champagne wires don't belong in your blue mixed recycling bag

Place muselets in your general waste bag. In Westminster, general waste goes to an Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), where metals are recovered after combustion of the waste. This means the steel in your muselets will still be captured and recycled, without risking damage to sorting equipment.

Although muselets are made from high-quality steel, please do not place them loose in your blue mixed recycling bag. Small, thin wires can easily tangle in the machinery at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), causing breakdowns and potential damage.
