The first phase of the Oxford Street pedestrianisation scheme began on Monday 26 October and is expected to continue until spring 2027.
We understand that changes to access and traffic management can raise questions for businesses, particularly when it comes to commercial waste collections. Our message to customers across Oxford Street and the surrounding Westminster area is simple: we have you covered.
Reliable collections throughout the works
We will continue to operate during the pedestrianisation works. Customers should continue to:
- Present waste bags and bins as normal
- Follow their usual collection timebands
- Ensure waste is securely tied or contained
- Keep bins accessible and ready for collection at the agreed time
There is no need to change your usual arrangements unless we contact you directly.
We are already in the area every day
As a commercial waste service operating across Westminster, our teams are already on the surrounding streets 24/7. We know the area, understand the local access arrangements and are familiar with the needs of businesses operating in one of London’s busiest locations.
Although the pedestrianisation works may change how some areas are accessed, our regular presence means we are well placed to keep collections running smoothly throughout each phase of the scheme.
Questions or collection issues?
If you experience any problems with a collection, or if your access arrangements change, please contact our team as soon as possible. We will be happy to help and make sure your service continues to meet your business needs.
With our electric fleet, EAV bikes and teams already working across Westminster around the clock, businesses on Oxford Street can continue to rely on us throughout the pedestrianisation works.
